– Is it hard to choose sessions?
I have to say I’ve never seen so many great talks on one list. So wanted to appeal for speakers: please submit some bad talks next year to make СfP committee member’s life easier 🙂
– How do your personal contacts with the potential candidate influence your decision?
If I know that the person submitting a talk combines huge knowledge plus great speaker skills together – like Bruce Momjian or Magnus Hagander – then my favorite talk from submitted by this person always will get the highest note. If I would work with someone – I would abstain, but it wasn’t the case here. And I always regret that some people with huge experience don’t submit talks – because they don’t believe that others would be interested in their story. Which is exactly the opposite in most of the cases!
